Cartridge Club #35 - The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

July was a little creepier this year and no that’s not because P1 is back but rather because the club was playing The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. This is certainly one of the darker entries in the Zelda series and has always been cast aside as being too different or too un-Zelda like. It’s gained a cult following over the years and this month the club has decided to see if it’s as much as a stinker as they thought or has their been a gem masked under all that darkness.

 

This month the Cartridge Bros are joined by three incredible guests: A legend in his own right and the creator of the Barrie Game Exchange, Nintendo Hodge! As well, two of the boys from the amazing gaming podcast Bonus Barrel, Rob and Leff!

Cartridge Club Weekly #1 - July 17th 2016

Cartridge Club #34 - Sonic the Hedgehog

Is it just me or did June go by in a flash? This month we were playing Sonic! The whole club was playing the original Sonic trilogy and Sonic+Knuckles but for the 25th anniversary of the first game we are mainly focusing on the original for the club podcast.

 

This is P2’s last month hosting without his better half but luckily he was able to be joined by 4 amazing guests, including the blogging legend herself, Lo Burton from "And The She Games". Youtube sensation and Sonic fan, Retro Pixil. The man who made the whole Sonic push happen, ItsRocketSuace and the club’s number one Third Eye Blind fan Jeremy3EB. Cartridge Club #33 - Donkey Kong Country

P2 is blessed with a legendary co-host from the Start To Continue podcast: Joe! Also known as @ACDecepticon on twitter. They are joined by Cartridge Club Pillar: Dean from Round2Gaming! And this month the club is lucky to have not one but two of the Retro Nonsense crew: Duke and 8BitBob!

 

With a record breaking number of members playing along this month Donkey Kong Country was huge hit! Is anyone surprised it did better than God Hand? Did anyone complete the game 100%? Cartridge Club #32 - God Hand

What a month for the Cartridge Club! For April we played God Hand, a controversial third person beat ‘em up sort of game. A ton of people chose to pass on God Hand this month, I can’t honestly blame them because if not for the club I too would have never played it; however, if you’re interested in hearing what the people who did play it have to say then you’ve come to the right spot!

 

This month P2 is joined by the “Sexy Conan O’Brien” of the Cartridge Club, Vintage Video Game Geek! As well the U.K. sentai legend himself, TokuJoe! And lastly, the one who not only mastered Normal mode of God Hand but bent the game over his lap and gave it a good spanking, MinotaurZombie!

Cartridge Club #31 - Alan Wake

March was a dark and scary month this year because the club was playing Alan Wake! P2 is lucky enough to have the "Barrie Game Exchange" legend himself, Kevin aka Buried on Mars as his co-host this month. The two are joined by Sarah(Kevin’s better half) from CaughtMeGaming, Sexy Ben from the Rad Rascals and All Gen Gamers podcasts as well as Youtube sensation Musty Hobbit!

Cartridge Club #30 - Nier

Cartridge Club #29 - Crash Bandicoot 2

What better way to start off the new year than with a game that is universally loved? Instead we’re going with Crash Bandicoot 2! Will everyone enjoy the game? Cartridge Club #28 - Gunstar Heroes

It's Christmas time again so you know what that means, time for a Run 'N Gun Genesis game! This month was played Gunstar Heroes, is it any good? Does everyone use the same the weapon? Find out here! 

 

 P1 and P2 are joined by the ghost of Christmas past, Vintage Video Game Geek, the ghost of Christmas donairs, Cartridge Canuck and that guy who does "Dude, you haven't played this game?!" Miketendo!

Cartridge Club #27 - River City Ransom

P1 returns for the November show and is joined by P2 as well as JRock, RyHo Magnifico and Chris Roberts. After a month of NES beat em up action what will the Club have to say? Is River City Ransom a smash hit, or does it fall flat on its face?

Cartridge Club #26 - Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts

This month the club played the hard as nails, Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts. P1 is away fighting his own personal ghouls 'n ghosts so J-Rock steps up to the plate to co-host with P2. Will he be able to fill P1's shoes? Will everyone make it further than P1 would have? This month we are joined by Steven Eidher from CAPMAX Gaming, Brasel the Gamer from Retroholics and Ryan Gorman from Its Rocket Sauce. Cartridge Club #25 - Burnout 3: Takedown

Starting off Season 3 of the Cartridge Club with a bang!... Or a crash... Either way the club was in for an exciting first entry to the racing genre. Was Burnout 3 the right choice for their first racing game? Will Dean from Round2Gaming 100% the game within the first week of playing it? Or will Kevin and Ram Vox from Retro Fandango discover someone relieving themselves with their mic still on? Cartridge Club #24 - Super Mario Sunshine

This game sucks. Don't even bother listening to us bitch about it's terrible level design, camera controls or mechanics. This was the worst decision the Cartridge Club has ever made. I personally blame P2. Even the amazing guests of Enzzy, Nintendo Doctor, Game Time with Kyle and Bill from STC couldn't save this stinker of a game. I am so sorry.

Cartridge Club #22 - Resident Evil 4

The Bros are joined by J Rock, Lo and Curtis of GFVS this month to talk about the Capcom smash hit Resident Evil 4. It is a split group of love and distaste this month which always makes for good discussion.

Cartridge Club #21 - Star Fox 64

Do a barrel roll! That's right this month the Club tackles the N64 gem Star Fox 64. The Bros are back together and this time they're joined by 3 returning Clubbers, Super Robot Power Hour, Duke from Retro Nonsense and Nintendo Doctor! Did the game stand up to the test of time? Will P1 finally beat a Club game? Is P2 excited for next month's offering? All that and more await your ears.

Cartridge Club #20 - Metroid Prime

Keeping the trend of great Gamecube games going, the club was playing Metroid Prime this month. Sadly with P1 off keeping the galaxy at peace, it was up to P2 to host the show on his own. Lucky for everyone listening Dean from Round2Gaming came to his aide to help co-host in P1's stead. Does everyone love the switch to first person for their Metroid franchise? Will Dean take his tower frustrations out on the rest of the crew? Find out as everyone in the club tries to walk a space mile in a space woman's shoes!
